Please consider contributing to Foxwoods Farm Sponser A School Pony
Are you a horse lover, former equestrian? Do you have a child or grandchildren in your life that love horses? How about a 4h alumni? Current or past customers who are able to contribute can you help? Our equestrian industry is hurting in this pandemic and find ourselves in the cracks of government support. So having said that we are asking any generous able person to donate to keep this small farm running.
Foxwoods Farm has been a part of Plymouth community for the past 13 years teaching animals lovers how to be kind, responsible equestrians. We were home to our local 4H Club Equus Friends for 9 of those years. Our students participated in many community service projects over the years, not all animal related. We supported veterans by sending in care packages one year, letters of support another, and my favorite homemade dog cookies to over sea solider dogs. Our girls have supported the teen homeless of cape cod for many years over Christmas time filling gift basket. Food drive, we nailed them! We sent love to our local seniors living in nursing homes by making holiday crafts for them to enjoy. Our riders have supported our local horse rescue in several ways over the past ten years.
Foxwoods Farm always stayed way below local competition prices to give horse lovers opportunities most kids wouldn't otherwise be able to afford. With the recent changes to our normal, the school horses here are out of work but still require daily, weekly, monthly care. Hay, our biggest expense, feed, shoes, shots, dental work and soon bug spray . The list goes on. Unfortunately they do not qualify for unemployment. As owner I have worked hard all year keeping this farm running for the community of horse lovers .With help from the school ponies we were making ends meet! With lessons going strong the school ponies get tip top treatment and all their needs met plus extra to keep them happy and healthy. A few unexpected vet bills and a global pandemic took me by surprise.
We are reaching out asking anyone who is lucky enough to continue working and recieving income to help support these saintly school ponies with lessons suspended.
We are a small barn, only 4 horses. We do not provide boarding services. Our only income is through weekly lessons, which are on hold until who knows when. We are hoping our good karma will come around in this scarey time for the farm. Please consider sponsoring a pony with a one time donation or continuing support. In exchange we can provide personal updates, pictures, facetime and even a meet and greet when this is all over. Foxwoods Farm would also find any donations to local feed and supply store helpful, or donations directly paid towards our own vet bills and medications needed to keep oldies comfortable. Fly spray donations always helpful also. Look at our lesson horses below!

Macaroni
MEET MACARONI
Macaroni came to us after his owner had lost interest in him. I remember seeing his adorable face on the horse trailer before he even unload and fell in love instantly. He has proven to be a fantastic addition for teaching the kids. He tests enough when he knows he can, but take care of the ones he knows he shouldn't. He is a bit of a Houdini. Kind of a little piggy too. He loves to play. He has serval balls and horse toys but his favorite thing is playing rip of mine and my brothers blankets off. He gives the best snuggles! And even can put on fancy pants and hold his own in the show ring! He hates the little black flies in his ears. Please consider donating bug spray for Roni? Or his grain is poulin balancer. Currently he is not on any supplements as he is the spring chicken of our herd.
Stevie
Stevie will be 21 on May 6. I bought stevie for a $1 when he was just 2 years old. His teenage beginner owner was in trouble for setting a fire behind her school. The parents thankfully, signed his cuteness over to me. Don't let his handsomeness fool you. He's a player ladies. He loves everything and everyone. His curry comb is his favorite brush. Stevie gives back massages and smiles on cue. What a ham. And a "fat clumsy couch" said it best by a student! Slow and steady, ok lazy. Stevie favorite treat is peppermints. Ok who we kidding, anything. Stevie gets the best dapples and shiny coat every summer. Unfortunately Stevie has a bone disease in his hoof. He has been sound on and off most of his life. We do everything we can to keep him comfortable and pain free. Stevie requires a shot call Osphos, it's $500 every shot and needs 2 shots a year. He also if on a daily anti inflammatory which is roughly $40 a month. Steroid injections years which is close to $1000. Stevie has special heart bar shoes on front hooves only. $130 every 6 weeks. So if you feel a connection to this fat lazy love bug he would love any donations able to be used towards his vet bill to keep him pain free. Stevie also on Poulin Balance grain.

Remi
Remi! Where do I start? Ok yes he has angel status here. He can teach the tiniest to trot all way to do a hunter pace at 2'6 with timid novice. He was a "fate" horse. We purchased another lesson horse who in 24 hours tossed 3 people. The seller would not refund us money. Would only trade. Although she didn't have anything similar to what we purchased at that time. Being winter, she asked if we could Sponser Remi til spring until she can find a suitable match since she didn't have space with the rodeo bronco going home. We went to get him hours away, thinking well atleast we have collateral right. Well I'm told he was a skinny 18 yr old racehorse w cloudy eyes. O great right. Well o great was right!! Few hundred pounds and some vet care later he was winning blue ribbons at local A rated horse show. Umm sorry lady, I'm keeping him. Kindest, loving soul. His past was that he belonged to a dealer who would lease him out to camps every year. I still dont know how they can explain not feeding an animal. Anyways, he is full of arthritis. Remi is on daily Equinox. $46 a month. Better for tummy and those pesky TB ulcers. He also is on monthly vitamin e supplement, and a joint supplement called cosequin. Both add up to $90 a month. Remi is a candidate for joint injections, or IM joint supplement that is probably more beneficial. He also is on an alfalfa diet to provide more calories and calcium for his tummy. That is about and additional $100 a month. Remi wears shoes on front feet only and seems to be ok with them! His farrier bill is $125 every 6 weeks. Remi eats Triple Crown Senior feed. Please consider donating to help keep Remi comfortable while out of work.
